Goldwell 10V Toning Mousse
If I could recommend just one product to keep blonde hair looking fresh between salon visits, this would be it. I've used Goldwell 10V Toning Mousse for years, and it's still my favourite. It keeps blonde hair looking beautifully creamy and neutral without the harsh, over-toned finish that purple shampoo can sometimes create.
Despite the name, this isn't a styling mousse. It simply comes in a foam formula, making it easy to distribute evenly through the hair without leaving it sticky, crunchy or weighed down.
One of the biggest benefits is that it dramatically reduces the need for purple shampoo. Because purple shampoos can be quite drying, using a leave-in toning mousse instead helps maintain your colour while keeping your hair softer and healthier.
Who it's for
Blondes wanting to maintain a creamy, salon-fresh tone.
Anyone who finds purple shampoo too drying.
Blondes who want an easy, leave-in toning routine.
Hair that needs neutralising without looking over-toned or dull.
Why I recommend it
This is hands down my favourite at-home toning product. I recommend it to my own clients because it delivers consistent, natural-looking results without compromising the condition of the hair.
I also use it differently to the directions on the can. Rather than rinsing it out, I shampoo, condition, towel dry my hair, apply the mousse evenly through my mid-lengths and ends, then style as usual. It's quick, effortless, and gives the best results.
How to use
Shampoo and condition your hair.
Towel dry until damp.
Apply a small amount evenly through the mid-lengths and ends.
Comb or brush through for even distribution.
Leave it in and style as normal.
April's Pro Tip
Skip the purple shampoo and use this instead. You'll maintain a softer, creamier blonde while avoiding the dryness that frequent purple shampoo can cause. Start with a small amount and adjust based on how much toning your blonde needs.
